It has come to our attention that there is a security issue with ConnectWise Control. Recently we have identified a potential Phishing Scam using what appears to be a ScreenConnect URL via a website spoofing technique. Here is a sample of the phishing email used:
If you have received this or a similar email, do not click on any links and delete the email immediately. If you have opened the email or accessed the malicious link provided, we strongly recommend changing the password of any account provided to the malicious site. This includes changing the password on any other sites that use the same credentials. As always, we recommend carefully checking any URL for slight spelling errors, as this typically indicates phishing activity.
Phishing attacks are the number one attack method of cyber criminals. Phishing emails may look as if they are from an individual or company you know or trust. These emails often attempt to trick you by either masking the attacker’s email, or by leading you on with a story which tricks you into clicking on a link or opening an attachment. Keeping informed about phishing techniques, thinking before you click, having Anti-Virus software, and having multi factor authentication enabled are just a few of the techniques possible to help prevent having your information stolen from these attacks.
